  • 1. Where is Bloomsbury International?
  • Bloomsbury International is in the London neighbourhood of Bloomsbury in central London. It is two minutes’ walk from Holborn Underground station (Central and Piccadilly lines).  Click here for a local map
  • 2. Where is the accommodation?
  • We have good hostel and hotel and, in the summer, student residence accommodation available. Most host families 30 – 45 minutes away by public transport. Go to the Accommodation Page>>
  • 3. Why do the prices for the General English classes change according to the time of day they are held?
  • The morning courses are much more in demand than the afternoon and evening courses, so we offer a reduced price for the afternoon and evening classes.
  • 4. Do you offer part time courses?
  • Most of our students study for a minimum of 15 hours per week. However, it is possible to book an electives course which takes place for 1.5 hours per day (7.5 hours per week). Please contact us for details.
  • 5. Do you offer children’s courses?
  • No. The minimum age of Bloomsbury International students is 16.
  • 6. How do you know what my level of English is?
  • On arrival, you are given a placement test and you will discuss your learning objectives with a member of our academic staff.
  • 7. Where do the students come from?
  • All over the world. Bloomsbury International is a truly international environment and studying with us will be your chance to make friends and contacts from many different countries.
  • 8. How can I pay?
  • Bank transfer, credit card, Sterling cheque or cash if paying in person. Credit cards have a 3% surcharge (4% for American Express).
  • 9. Can I open a bank account?
  • If you study for more than 9 months, yes.
  • 10. Who are the teachers?
  • Our teachers all hold internationally recognised English language teaching qualifications. At Bloomsbury International, we believe strongly that continued professional development is the key to providing effective, interesting lessons. Our teachers are sponsored to participate in further professional training, attend our weekly in-house seminars and lessons are observed regulary by our academic management team. You will find our teachers passionate, enthusiastic and committed to their students learning.

  • 13. Do I need travel insurance?
  • We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance. We very much hope that your trip will go according to plan, but in the unfortunate event that some unforseen occurance should require you to either cancel or cut short your course, having insurance will provide you with peace of mind.
