It is simply not enough to want something as important as better English grammar. In order to take the goal seriously, one first has to be clear about the reasons for learning to improve one’s English grammar.
Another response to the person who constantly says “I want my English grammar to be better” is to suggest that he or she, prior to formal study, begins conversing with native English speakers on a weekly if not daily basis to understand specific intonations, pacing and other nuances of the English language that may not be obvious in a classroom setting. This is an important part of formal study as well, and the learning will continue until the person is well on their way to becoming a fluent English speaker. But, the initial stages will set the tone for learning English grammar.
