Incorporating Virgin Atlantic Airways & GDS qualifications

The Diploma in Travel Agency Management is designed to provide qualified, professional personnel for international airline ticket sales in the fast growing air travel industry. Students will receive comprehensive training in the management, computing, and the airline ticketing skills necessary to embark on a management career.

IATA qualified instructors use specialist course materials and study manuals prepared by Virgin Atlantic to teach fares and ticketing skills up to IATA Level 2 standard and options of Galileo, Sabre, Amadeus or Worldspan GDS computerised reservation systems. The course is particularly suited to those who would like to work for an international airline, travel agency or tour operator but can also be used by those who would eventually like to open their own travel agency.

The programme will be taught over a 36-week period with a total of 450 hours tuition input plus additional research, guided self-study, assignments and projects. There are 10 separate 2 and a half hour exams for each module. Exams are held three times year at the end of each term.

Designatory letters

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be entitled to use the following letters after their name: ACTHCM (Associate Membership of the Confederation of Tourism, Hotel & Catering Management). HCIMA Affiliate (AHCIMA) membership. Ass. Inst TT (Associate Membership of the Institute of Travel & Tourism)
